I never went the conventional route. I picked up engineering by breaking things, rebuilding them, and shipping in public: first running large online communities and Minecraft infrastructure, then expanding into full-stack web, backend systems, and the messy fun bits of devops.
These days I'm deep in AI infrastructure, realtime systems and automation. I like problems where the answer isn't on Stack Overflow: design the system, watch it fail, iterate until it doesn't.
What I really enjoy is the moment a messy idea turns into a real, working product someone can actually use.
